Boy room charm and a longing for the rock and roll dream of introvert guitar solos. Walking in the suburbs with Dinosaur Jr and Sonic Youth blasting in the earphones; Hampus is the never-ending teenager, a contemporary Peter Pan, just less naive and story book cute. He paints, draws and makes guitar noises that have the uncanny ability to crawl out of their given places. He often uses his drawings to create 3-dimensional cartoon like stories that develop and change during the show. It’s like reading a book; but after reading a few pages you realize that it actually is an animation.
If pop art was a contemporary invention and had not lost its edge, Hampus would have been one of the leaders, but now it’s much better to call what he does by it’s true name: REAL GOOD ART!
